Vice Minister Chen Xiaohua meets UN Under-Secretary-General Tegegnework Gettu

Vice Minister Chen Xiaohua Xiaohua met Mr. Tegegnework Gettu, United Nations Under-Secretary-General, in Beijing on August 28, 2018.
Vice Minister Chen appreciated the efforts of UN and Mr. Tegegnework Gettu in promoting the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Chen introduced China''s achievements in MDGs and China''s assistance to other developing countries in this regard. In addition, Vice Minister Chen briefed the guest about China''s achievements in food security and its contribution to global food security.
Mr. Gettu congratulated China on its progress in the implementation of MDGs. He also hailed China''s efforts in carrying out South-South Cooperation and contribution to food security worldwide. He said that he is very interested in the agricultural achievements of China.
The two sides also exchanged views on agricultural cooperation between China and Africa. Mr. Gettu expressed his readiness to facilitate China-Africa agricultural cooperation.
